Colorado Refund Policy
Students not accepted to the school are entitled to all moneys paid. Students who cancel this contract by notifying the school within three (3) business days are entitled to a full refund of all tuition and fees paid. Students who withdraw after three (3) business days, but before commencement of classes (commencement is the date the course was started by student), are entitled to a full refund of all tuition and fees paid except the maximum cancellation charge of $150.00 or 25% of the contract price which ever is less In the case of students withdrawing after commencement of classes (commencement is the date the course was started by student), the school will retain the cancellation charge plus a percentage of tuition and fees, which is based on the percentage of contact hours attended in the Program/Stand Alone Course, as described in the table below. The refund is based on the official date of termination or withdrawal. The CE Shop is committed to our student’s satisfaction. Refunds will be processed within 30 days of request.

The student may cancel this contract at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after signing this contract (agreeing to these terms and conditions at time of purchase by clicking on agree to terms and conditions checkbox on purchase page).
All refunds will be made within 30 days from the date of termination. The official date of termination or withdrawal of a student shall be determined in the following manner:
- The date on which the school receives written notice of the student’s intention to discontinue the training program; or
- The date on which the student violates published school policy, which provides for termination.
- Should a student fail to return from an excused leave of absence, the effective date of termination for a student on an extended leave of absence or a leave of absence is the earlier of the date the school determines the student is not returning or the day following the expected return date.
The student will receive a full refund of tuition and fees paid if the school discontinues a Stand Alone course within a period of time a student could have reasonably completed it, except that this provision shall not apply in the event the school ceases operation.
The policy for granting credit for previous training shall not impact the refund policy.
Arkansas Refund Policy
Courses with fees less than $100: The CE Shop is committed to student satisfaction. Courses that have been more than 50% complete are not eligible for refunds or course hour credits. Refund requests made within 30 days of purchase that are not more than 50% completed are eligible for a full refund. Requests made between 30 & 60 days of purchase that have not been more than 50% completed will receive a credit in the form of course hours equal to those purchased. Requests made after 60 days are not eligible for a refund. NOTE: Our system does not allow for refunds on promotional codes not applied. In order to obtain any promotional discount, the promotional code must be applied at the time of purchase. Courses with fees more than $100: The CE Shop is committed to student satisfaction. Per Arkansas State Board of Private Career Education regulations, at completion of less than twenty-five (25%) of the program, the refunds shall be made on a pro rata basis. At completion of 25% but less than 50% of the program, the student shall be refunded not less than 50% of the tuition. At completion of 50% but less than 75% of the program, the student shall be refunded not less than 25% of the tuition. At completion of 75% or more of the program no refund is due the student. NOTE: Our system does not allow for refunds on promotional codes not applied. In order to obtain any promotional discount, the promotional code must be applied at the time of purchase. IMPORTANT: Please note that while The CE Shop, Inc designs packages and courses to meet the licensees’ needs, IT IS ALWAYS THE LICENSEES RESPONSIBILITY to ensure they have ordered and completed the correct number and type (mandatory/elective) of hours to renew their license by their state deadline. The CE Shop, Inc cannot and will not at any time be held liable if a customer orders the incorrect number and/or type of hours and/or cannot subsequently renew their licenses with the state due to incorrect or insufficient CE hours.

Course Expiration Policies
As a general rule, The CE Shop, Inc. allows courses to be completed within 12 months from the time of enrollment. However, some state entities require the courses to be completed in less time. Please refer to the requirement details, email instructions, and course orientations for information on exceptions to this rule.
- North Carolina rules state that an approved distance education school shall not permit students to register for any such course between June 11 and June 30, inclusive, of any approval period. The sponsor of any such distance education course shall require students registering for any such course tocomplete the course within 30 days of the date of registration for the course, provided that the deadline for course completion in any approval period shall not be later than June 10 of that approval period. Therefore to remain in compliance with this rule, if you order NC courses they will expire 30 days from time of enrollment or by June 10 whichever occurs first.
- Oklahoma rules state that courses must be completed within 6 months from the time of enrollment. Therefore to remain in compliance with this rule, if you order OK courses they will expire 6 months from time of enrollment.
- Washington, D.C. rules state that courses must be completed within 3 months from the time of enrollment. Therefore to remain in compliance with this rule, if you order DC courses they will expire 3 months from time of enrollment.
- Iowa rules that courses must be completed within 6 months from the time of enrollment. Therefore to remain in compliance with this rule, if you order IA courses they will expire 6 months from time of enrollment.
Technical Course System Requirements/Technical Assistance
Students are required to have a computer (PC or Macintosh) with a stable (high speed not required) Internet connection, 56K modem or greater, 800 x 600 screen resolution, sufficient memory to run system software and browser, Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.5 or greater on a PC, with Java and Cookies to be enabled. Current versions of Mozilla Firefox work on PC and Mac computers. We do recommend that the student’s browser be updated to its latest version. Students will need a keyboard and mouse connected to the machine.

Enrollments are accepted via our school website at http://www.theceshop.com/ 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Students are also encouraged to call our team of Customer Service Advisors at 1-888-827-0777. Customer Service Advisors are available Monday thru Friday 7am to 7pm CST. Both the website and our Customer Service Advisors will provide students with more than enough information to understand what their educational requirements are and which courses are best suited to meet those requirements. Once enrolled, students receive personalized email correspondence with detailed instructions regarding how to access their courses as well as how to contact our team for support. Accessing course(s)/Course Experience:
Course enrollments are accepted via the telephone or online. Once enrollment is completed students are immediately provided links to the courses as well as sent email instructions for accessing their EASYTrack account where the links to courses can be found. Also included in the enrollment email are details regarding the post-completion process. EASYTrack is the student’s online record with our school and accessed at any time from the homepage of our school http://www.theceshop.com/. Once logged in using a secure website with the students login ID and password, students are presented with a link to begin their course which begins with an orientation specific to the jurisdiction in which they are licensed.
To begin the coursework, students simply click on the name of their course and are redirected into the course delivery system.
The first section presented is an orientation/Introduction that provides an overview of the course, it’s authors and contributors, information about our school and an overview of how to navigate the course system and ensures a pleasant experience. Courses are presented in an outline view, clearly indicating the order of content to be reviewed.
Online courses are delivered on a “self pace” basis, meaning that students can complete the coursework on their time when it is convenient for them, anytime day or night from any computer connected to the Internet. Students are expected to spend the approved seat time in the course material and in states that enforce seat time, the system will display how much time you are required to spend in the course prior to receiving credit for the course. Students can view the cumulative time they have spent in the course within the course navigation bars as well as see progress by Unit, Chapter and lesson.
Within the course, students are presented with reading material, interactive exercises, questions to check for understanding as well as exams at the end of each unit of learning material. Units are segmented into Chapters and Chapter into Lessons. Within the materials there are references and links to worksheets and other resources that can be utilized by the student both during and after completion of the course(s). These resources are presented in a PDF format to be saved and or printed on/from the student’s computer.
MINNESOTA: Minnesota real estate licensees are only allowed to complete a cumulative 8 total hour limit in a 24 day to continuing education in classroom, distance or internet instruction per MN Department of Commerce Rule 2809. It is up to the licensee to know this and ensure they are not completing more than 8 total hours in a 24 hour day.
ALASKA real estate licensees are only allowed to complete a total of 10 hours in a day. It is up to the licensee to know this and ensure they are not completing more than 10 total hours in one day.
COLORADO and UTAH real estate licensees are only allowed to complete a total of 8 hours in a day. It is up to the licensee to know this and ensure they are not completing more than 8 total hours in one day.
ARIZONA real estate licensees are only allowed to complete a total of 9 hours in a day. It is up to the licensee to know this and ensure they are not completing more than 9 total hours in one day.
Promotional codes must be applied at the checkout. Exams are presented at the conclusion of each unit, with a varying number of questions depending on the amount of content contained in each unit, typically 5-10 questions. Unit exams can be retaken as many times as necessary. Generally, depending on jurisdiction, students must achieve a minimum of a 75% passing score to receive credit for the unit and course. Students will not be able to proceed with reading materials in the next units until previous exams are successfully completed and passed.
Once the course units are completed, students will be prompted to take a final exam. The exam is administered with a set of randomly chosen multiple choice questions pulled from a question bank. The question difficulties vary from basic fact related questions to questions that require understanding and application of the knowledge imparted. The CE Shop’s policies allow for students to take as much time (in one session) as is needed to complete the exams, however if interactivity is not detected by the system for a period of 10 minutes, the student session will be paused with the option to continue or be logged out. Some states require the exams to be timed and in those states our systems enforce the amount of time spent on the final exam. If the student is logged off, their last page in the course material (not in exams) will be book marked and they will be taken back to that place in the course on their next visit. Should the student not pass the final examination, they are able to review their exam where they will see the question, their answers, the correct answers and why the correct answer was correct. Exam reports are not available for printing to ensure the student is not simply memorizing questions and answers. Once reviewed, The CE Shop’s policies are, unless otherwise stated, that students may take the examination as many times as necessary to achieve a passing score and demonstrate mastery of the material. When exams are retaken, questions are shuffled and a minimum percentage of new questions are pulled from the question bank. Some states such as Illinois, Idaho, California, West Virginia, Kentucky CE courses as well as Georgia Post-Licensing, Florida Post-Licensing, and New York Pre-Licensing courses only allow for 2 attempts on the final exam, Florida CE allows for 1 attempt on the final exam. If the student does not pass the second attempt or first attempt in the case of Florida CE, according to the state they must take the entire course over again. If the final exam is not passed the second time or first attempt in the case of Florida CE, the licensee must repurchase and retake the entire course, including the final exam. Our system enforces this requirement only in the states that require it.
The CE Shop’s policy is that students have access to the course content for a 12 month period of time or within 30 days or before June 10 for North Carolina, within 6 months in Iowa, within 6 months in Oklahoma, and within 3 months in Washington, D.C. from the time of order and can return to the course delivery system to reference material at a future date prior to the expiration of courses. Many of our students enjoy being able to reference the material after the course is completed. Some states require a student to complete a course within a set amount of time after enrollment and if they do not do so, they need to re-order and start over. Our system enforces this requirement only in the states that require it.
NEVADA CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per NV RED, students are provided with a maximum of 1 minute per true/false question and 1.5 minutes per multiple choice questions.
CALIFORNIA CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per CA BRE, students are provided with a maximum of 60 seconds per multiple choice question in their final exams. Two attempts are allowed to pass the final exam.
ILLINOIS CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per IL REC, students must take their online final exams in the presence of an approved proctor. Two attempts are allowed to pass the final exam.
KENTUCKY CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per KREC, students are allowed two attempts to pass the final exam.
IDAHO CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per IREC, students are allowed two attempts to pass the final exam.
WEST VIRGINIA CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per WREC, students must take their final exam in a paper format (not online). Two attempts are allowed to pass the final exam.
FLORIDA CE FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per FDBPR, students are allowed one attempt to pass the final exam with a passing score of 80% and will be allowed 1 ½ minutes to answer each question.
FLORIDA Post-Licensing FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per FDBPR, students are allowed two attempts to pass the final exam with a passing score of 75% and will be allowed 1 ½ minutes to answer each question. Licensees must wait at least 30 days and no more than 1 year after failing the final exam before making a second attempt.
GEORGIA Post-Licensing FINAL EXAM POLICY: Per GREC, students must take their post-licensing final exam in a paper format (not online) in the presence of an approved proctor. Two attempts are allowed to pass the final exam.
Attendance and Progress Policy
Students must complete 100% of the learning material and demonstrate mastery of the material to receive credit hours. Students not completing 100% of the material will not be issued certificates of completion to receive credit. Students should spend a minimum of 50 minutes/per hour of approved credit in the learning management system. Example: 6 hour course, student should be actively engaged in the content for 300 minutes (6 X 50 minutes). The time can be spent in intervals most agreeable to the student. The learning management system will log all interactive time spent in each course. In states which enforce seat time, the system will display how much time is required to receive credit for the course. Students generally have 12 months from time of order to complete their coursework unless otherwise stated. It is up to the student to complete the coursework prior to the course expiration date. Should students not complete the course prior to the course expiration date from time of enrollment, re-enrollment in the course and paying of course fee is required. Given that students typically have 12 months, unless otherwise stated, to complete their coursework and the courses are delivered online, leaves of absence are not really necessary however, if a student needs an extension, The CE Shop will review those requests on a case by case basis and may charge a fee for an extension. The CE Shop does not have a probation policy in place for their online courses.
Colorado Postponement of starting date, whether at the request of the school or the student, requires a written agreement signed by the student and the school. The agreement must set forth:
a.) Whether the postponement is for the convenience of the school or student; and,
b.) A deadline for the new start date, beyond which the start date will not be postponed.
If the course is not commenced, or the student fails to attend by the new start date set forth in the agreement, the student will be entitled to an appropriate refund of prepaid tuition and fees within 30 days of the deadline of the new start date set forth in the agreement, determined in accordance with the school’s refund policy and all applicable laws and rules concerning the Private Occupational Education Act of 1981.
All students are expected to act maturely and are required to respect other students and faculty members. Possession of weapons, illegal drugs, and alcohol of any kind are not allowed at any time on school property. Any violation of school policies may result in permanent dismissal from school.
Any student may be dismissed for violations of rules and regulations of the school, as set forth in school publications. The director, after consultation with all parties involved, makes the final decision. Where appropriate, the director will review each case and decide upon re-admittance.
Credits from another institution cannot be combined with those earned through The CE Shop. It is the responsibility of the student work with previous education providers and/or the State Real Estate Commission to determine if courses are acceptable for credit. The CE Shop does not guarantee the transferability of its credits to any other institution unless there is a written agreement with another institution. At the time of this publication printing, there are no such agreements in place.
Colorado Student Grievance Procedure
The student grievance procedure includes the following steps/elements:
(a) investigation of the complaint by school administrator;
(b) review by an impartial mediator or other party;
(c) an opportunity to present evidence both documentary and testimonial
and to confront evidence presented to the contrary;
(d) the right of the student to be represented at the student`s own expense;
(e) a summary record of the dialogue/hearing, to be kept by the school for a
period of three years subject to provision of existing privacy and disclosure laws;
(f) a written recommendation by the hearing mediator/other party upon conclusion of the hearing:
(g) right of appeal to the School Director.
Colorado Complaints, which cannot be resolved by direct negotiation between the student and the school, may be filed online with the Division of Private Occupational Schools of the Colorado Department of Higher Education, at http://highered.colorado.gov/dpos/, 303/866-2723. All student complaints submitted to the Division must be in writing and “shall be filed within two years after the student discontinues training at the school.”
Pennsylvania CE Shop Students:
Should you have a complaint; please call the PA Bureau toll-free telephone number, (800) 822-2113 to obtain information about filing a complaint against the real estate education provider
Post CE Course Completion:
Once courses are completed, students are prompted to securely “certify” that they were the student/licensee who completed the coursework. This is most often accomplished by entering the username and password that the student created at the time of enrollment. At this time a mandated course and instructor evaluation is presented to the student. Once certification has taken place, the student’s certificate of completion sent to the customer via an automated email and is also stored in their online account and archived for a minimum of five years unless otherwise stated. These electronic versions are available to the student at any time. If there are exceptions to this rule, they will be provided to you in the state requirement details, email instructions, and/or course orientation and completion slides. The CE Shop, Inc. does not offer employment assistance at this time.
- West Virginia requires a notarized form in place of the electronic signature standard we have in place for most states. The system will provide you with this form each time you complete a course. It is your responsibility to return the original completed form to us in a timely manner by mail to The CE Shop, Inc.-5670 Greenwood Plaza Blvd Suite 420-Greenwood Village, Colorado 80111. We are not able to issue your certificates of completion until we receive the original forms and the final exam for grading in the mail.
- Arkansas requires the last 4 digits of every student`s social security number in the event that the Arkansas State Board of Private Career Education requests student transcripts of our students.
It is the responsibility of The CE Shop (CES) customer to provide CES with their correct and full real estate license number as well as correct and full first and last name as is currently on record with the entity that issued their license. CES will not be responsible or liable for any disciplinary actions including, but not limited to, late/ reinstatement fees or changes in license statuses by the licensing entity to the licensee as a result of the incorrect license information provided by CES customer. It is in the customer’s best interest to ensure they have provided CES with correct license information.
